Temporary and contract agents as well as Accredited Parliamentary Assistants (APAs) may receive a temporary unemployment allowance when their contract with the EU Institutions expires (see Articles 28a and 96, as well as 135 and 136 CEOS). This allowance is calculated and paid by the PMO. To be able to benefit from the unemployment allowance, former staff members must register as seeking employment with the employment authorities of the Member States and comply with the conditions laid down by national law.
